Going Solar in Nevada

Nevada is one of the sunniest states in the nation, with Las Vegas and Reno ranking among its top 10 sunniest cities. This ideal weather, alongside strong incentives, makes going solar in the Battleborn State an easy choice. Nevada has committed to 50% renewable electricity by 2030 and 100% carbon-free power by 2050. Encouraging residential solar through friendly policies and incentives is moving us closer to these goals.

At Sater Electric, we’ll work with you to maximize savings, review financing options, and ensure you get the best deal in town.

Nevada's Solar Incentives

Solar Investment Tax Credit

As a Nevada homeowner, you’re eligible for the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC). With this federal incentive, you’ll claim 26% of your solar and battery install costs as tax deductions, as long as you have your Permission to Operate in place by December 2022. This benefit drops to 22% for projects that begin construction in 2023 and has not been extended into 2024.

Battery Storage Incentives

Under its Powershift program, NV Energy offers its customers incentives for installing battery storage. Solar + battery systems with 3-100 kW capacities are eligible for up to $3000 in savings from NV Energy. You’ll save even more with battery storage by avoiding the highest Time Of Use electricity rates.

Net Metering

When your home solar system produces more electricity than you need, net metering allows you to sell your excess power back to the grid. Our current Tier 4 net metering pays out at 75% of the retail rate and guarantees your rate for 20 years.

Electric Vehicles

Your electric vehicle purchase may be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7500. Credits vary by vehicle make and model.
